Copper

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 28 feet (8.5 meters) tall. The wispy stem is copper, and is dotted with small vivid red spines. It has a straight, flat, gold trunk atop a thick mess of ridged, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and pink-red and trail down across the ground.

The serrated-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are hazel with pastel orange tips. They are flexible, and easily come away when pulled.

It is quick growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of turquoise and pastel orange, with a lime central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of 14 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like rotten eggs.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the indigo flesh is rough, and the blood red sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
