Copperfern

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 119 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several long and flexible, straight stems covered in rough, brown bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are short and thick with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, broad, flat, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of green that gradient shifts to blood red at the top, resistant and smooth.

It produces large amounts of tiny, silver flowers with V-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like fruity. In mid-autumn it forms largered, shelled seeds.
