Crimson Succulent

This short cactus grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. It splits at the base to form 3 perforated stems. Each stem is green, and is covered in brittle grey spines. The spherical body is orange, and is covered in dozens of fine, crimson, hair-like spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either ashy orange or violet, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has an intense scent that smells like warm milk.

The cactus's skin is thin, the vivid red flesh is rough, and the purple sap is thin.
