Ashy Red Moss

This ashy red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In heathlands, On trees, and In bogs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly delicate.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores.
