Caramel Spine Succulent

This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The very thin stem is gold or aquamarine, and is covered in lots of rigid cream spines. The straight, caramel trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the bottom. Its gray branches trail down to the ground and start growing at the base the stem.

The copious amounts of smooth-edged, fan-like leaves are blue and aquamarine. They are durable, and easily come away when pulled.

It is very fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are sky blue in the center, bronze in the middle and blood red at the edges grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with several raised narrow petals. It has a strong scent that smells like faeces.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the olive flesh is smooth, and the olive sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
