Aquamarineberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 43 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, wavy trunk covered in thin, smooth, light brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is yellow.

The sparse patches of branches are long and thick and are covered with large amounts of giant, finger-like leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid dark grey or cyan, with indigo patches.

In early spring, it produces many small, cyan blossoms with 8 pointed petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like a woman.

In late summer it produces small, finger-like fruit. The fuzzy caramel skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy aquamarine flesh is sweet and dry. The orange seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It can flourish even in standing water.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
