Aquamarine Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 46 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, wavy trunk covered in smooth, light gray bark, and inside, the very hard wood is copper-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of tiny, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are yellow with yellow tips.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, slate blossoms with broad, flat petals. They are hardy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like bonfire smoke.

In mid-autumn it produces , trumpet-shaped fruit. The clammy turquoise skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft aquamarine flesh is sour and powdery. The yellow seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
