Turquoise

Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is thick, and the tiny, beige or peach leaves are thick with tattered edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Dozens of giant flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with solid beige petals decorated with turquoise dots and a amber central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 10 tightly layered, narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has the faintest scent that smells like cigarette smoke, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.

The leaves and petals are often used to make tea.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
