Copper

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is moss green, and is covered in sharp spines. The cuboid body is red, and is covered in sharp spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 12 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid copper petals decorated with bright yellow lines and a sky blue central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 48 widely spaced narrow petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like pot-purri.

The cactus's skin is thin, the violet flesh is rough, and the olive sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
