This copper moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly flexible; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It comes in 4 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
