Violetgrass

This short, moss green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The long, narrow stalks grow in sparse patches that are flexible and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, purple tuft.

During the early winter, it produces lots of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of medium-sized grains.
