Goldenberry

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 64 feet (19.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 53 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in fine, ridged, silver bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow-brown.

The sparse amount of branches are long and thick and are covered with small amounts of large, oblong leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are white and beige.

In early spring, it produces a handful of giant, beige blossoms with 2 cylindrical shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like pineapple.

In early summer it produces , 2 pointed fruit. The hairy gold skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft olive flesh is sweet and syrupy. The black seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
