Clinging Mahogany
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This colossal shrub grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for around 14 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has several branched, angular stems covered in very thick, waxy, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.
The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of huge, wispy, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of lime green that gradient shifts to slate at the top, resilient and smooth.
It produces several tiny, grey flowers with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like wet dog. In late spring it forms medium-sizedcream, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The leaves are very toxic, and very sweet.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
