Copperleaf

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 46 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several branched, straight stems covered in silky, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches are long and slender with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of tiny, very thick, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are lilac on the edges and crimson at the center, flimsy and sticky.

In mid-spring it produces thick bunches of tiny, pink flowers with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like apple.
