Indigo Flower

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is very thin and splits into dozens of branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the large, green and moss green leaves are long, narrow with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with indigo petals on the lower layer and hazel petals decorated with aquamarine dots on the inner layer. The central disk is deep green. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. They fall easily.

It has no scent, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
