Goldenleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized tree grows up to 16 meters (52.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 262 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale brown-grey.

The small handful of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with sparse amounts of smooth, large, thick leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either gold, or bronze with green dots.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, orange, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for making paper
It is slightly resistant to fire damage.
