Caramel Fruit Tree

This huge fruit tree grows up to 65 feet (19.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 46 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, wonky trunk covered in thick, smooth, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale yellow.

The numerous branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of huge, wispy leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in hazel and caramel varieties.

In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, silver blossoms with 6 pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like blood.

In mid-summer it produces , stiff, pointed fruit. The sticky green skin is delicate and inedible, and the very soft crimson flesh is spicy and salty and juicy. The grey seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
