Copper Shield Moss
Moss type: MossThis copper moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps On rotten logs, On trees, and In moorlands.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly strong.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release hundred of spores.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is frequently struck by lightning.
