Crimson Vine
Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This colossal bine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 2,122 feet (646.8 meters) and growing as high as 988 feet (301.1 meters).
It takes 29 years for the green stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 4.2 feet (1.3 meters) and are rough and woody.
The pleated, soft leaves reach up to 3.3 feet (1.0 meters) in length. They are cream and crimson, and have tattered edges.
During late spring, the bine produces thick bunches of average caramel flowers.
