Golden Garlicvine
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its slate and yellow-green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 4 and are very thin and straight, and split into many branching stems at the base, and the small, silver leaves are thin with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
Lots of tiny flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with solid gold petals decorated with magenta lines and a muted green central disk. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like garlic, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
