Caramel

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 58 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in thick, waxy, brown-green bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of small, long, tapering leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in light grey and bright yellow varieties.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of giant, caramel blossoms with finger-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like lavender.

In early winter it produces , needle-like fruit. The waxy dull purple skin is thin and inedible, and the very soft red flesh is extremely salty and sticky. The white seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
