Blue Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 22 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in rough, silver and white bark, and inside, the light wood is mahogany-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of huge, 5 pointed leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in deep blue, vibrant red and red varieties.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of small, bright yellow blossoms with V-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like damp.

In mid-autumn it produces , long, straight fruit. The waxy white skin is thick and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is bitter and powdery. The brown seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
