Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas On rotten logs, In bogs, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly light.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
