Brown Spiral Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On rotten logs.
It is large, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is very rigid.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
