Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 75 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, twisting trunk covered in rough, dark brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is gray.

The abundance of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of giant, thin leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are blue and dark grey.

In early spring, it produces several giant, grey blossoms with long, tapering petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like something putrid.

In early summer it produces , asymmetrical fruit. The rubbery olive skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is savoury, and the very soft peach flesh is sweet and dry. The light brown seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
