Indigo

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows the first year, flowers the second year, then dies)

This giant shrub grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for around 32 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several thick, crooked stems covered in very thick, cracked, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of small, very thick, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are indigo on the sides and yellow at the center, delicate and crispy.

In early summer it produces many medium-sized, faded orange flowers with 5 cylindrical shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like bonfire smoke.
