Caramel

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 20 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, crooked trunk covered in wrinkled, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very dense wood is dark brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of large, 9 pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are pink on the sides and sky blue at the center.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, caramel blossoms with 7 kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like chocolate.

In late summer it produces small, long, narrow fruit. The fuzzy orange skin is thick and inedible, and the crunchy pink flesh is bland and juicy. The grey seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
