Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This short bine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 24 feet (7.3 meters) and growing as high as 77 feet (23.5 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.
It takes 5 months for the olive and yellow-green stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are rough and gnarled.
The thin, clammy leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are solid magenta with grey dots, and have irregular edges.
During late spring, the bine produces many small lilac flowers.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
