Blackberry

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 142 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many sturdy, slanted stems covered in thick, silky, black bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of small, shield-shaped, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are emerald with azure tips, rigid and crispy.

It produces thousands of large, bold green flowers with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like chocolate. In early autumn it forms medium-sizedashy blue berries.
