Yellowbell

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The thick stem is green, and is covered in sharp spines. The straight, olive trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its green branches are short, thin and wispy and start growing at the top the stem.

The handfuls of wavy-edged, wispy leaves are solid vibrant yellow or black, with pink patches. They are flimsy, but take little effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 44 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are violet on the edges and peach at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 petals. It has a strong scent that smells like grass cuttings.

The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the bright red flesh is waxy, and the brown sap is thin.

It is suitable for making strong rope
