Red Teardrop Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In damp forests.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly robust.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release hundred of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
