Copper

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows the first year, flowers the second year, then dies)

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, silver and white bark, and inside, the very dense wood is dark brown.

The branches are very short and thin and are covered with large amounts of huge, broad, flat leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in copper, white and caramel varieties.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, gold blossoms with heart-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like cherry.

In late summer it produces very large, stiff, pointed fruit. The smooth bronze skin is peel-able and sweet and salty, and the crunchy yellow flesh is sweet and dry. The lime seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
