Crimson Tear Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In rainy mountain ranges, and In damp forests.
It is huge, growing up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is very durable.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is often home to a particular bird species.
All parts of the shrub are edible.
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
