Caramel

This giant fruit tree grows up to 65 feet (19.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 40 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in cracked, yellow bark, and inside, the light wood is pale yellow.

The small handful of branches are short and thick and are covered with large amounts of huge, perforated leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are caramel with yellow tips.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of large, washed-out red blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like ashes.

In early winter it produces , asymmetrical fruit. The smooth purple skin is tough and inedible, and the very soft dull yellow flesh is bitter and juicy. The white seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
