Caramel

This short caudiciform grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The very thick stem is caramel, and is covered in thick bunches of flexible dark grey spines. It has a straight, bulbous, olive trunk atop a round block of smooth, exposed roots. The branches are thick and gray-green and are very short and thick.

The tattered-edged, very thin leaves are either grey or turquoise, with green splotches. They are resistant, and detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are green at the sides and blood red at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of 14 raised, narrow petals. It has a faint scent that smells like alcohol.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the indigo flesh is smooth, and the hazel sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
