Copper

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 28 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of sturdy, crooked stems covered in very thick, knobbly, light brown bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are very long and thick with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of small, asymmetrical, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are copper with red tips, durable and waxy.

In mid-summer it produces several large, dull green blossoms with flame-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

In late winter tiny finger-like fruits ripen. The crispy bold blue skin is thick and edible when roasted; it is sweet and bitter, and the crunchy brown flesh is bitter and sour and syrupy. The bold red seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.
