Silvergrass
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This small, silver and hazel grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The stiff, pointed stalks grow in small clumps that are resistant.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, crimson flower.
During the early winter, it produces excessive amounts of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of giant grains.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It can survive a very long time without water.
