Copperleaf

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is copper, and is covered in many flexible lime spines. The rounded leaves are red and dark grey. Sparse amounts of them grow on wide, lime green branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are resilient, and do not detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 39 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of lilac, grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 curved petals. It has a weak scent that smells like rich perfume.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the cyan flesh is smooth, and the olive sap is thin.

It comes in 20 varieties, each with a different petal colour.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
