Speckled Black Tree

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 146 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in rough, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black with white speckles.

The sparse amount of branches are very long and thin and are covered with copious amounts of clammy, small, spear shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are deep blue on the sides and blood red at the center.

In late summer it forms small, bright orange seed pods.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
