Lime Green Moss

This yellow-green moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainy mountain ranges.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is extremely rigid; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release millions of spores.
