Vinebind Spineweed

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 32 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many thick, straight stems covered in very thick, waxy, brown bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches are short and slender with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of miniature, needle-like, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are cream with brown tips, rigid and crispy.

It produces copious amounts of tiny, white flowers with stiff, pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like petrol. In early summer it forms medium-sizedbrown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.


It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The trunk and branches are covered in large spikes.
