Blackthorn

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The thick stem is black, and is covered in sharp spines. The very thick, pastel yellow trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter. Its pink-red branches are long and slender.

The toothed-edged, thick leaves are peach and yellow. They are frail, but easily come away when pulled.

It is very slow growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are red on the underside and red on the top grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of 13 raised, round-tipped petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like fruity.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the slate flesh is rough, and the caramel sap is thin.
