Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 51 feet (15.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 49 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thin, cracked, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of large, broad, flat leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are peach and cyan.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of large, blue blossoms with spiral shaped petals. They are hardy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like skunk spray.

In mid-summer it produces tiny, pleated fruit. The waxy cream skin is delicate and bland, and the very soft light grey flesh is sweet and oily. The orange seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is very delicate and is easy to kill.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
