Crimsonbell

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 115 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of narrow, crooked stems covered in silky, light gray bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches trail down across the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, thick, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid slate or lilac, with intense red streaks, light and waxy.

In mid-spring it produces thousands of small, olive flowers with sickle shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a faint scent that smells like onion.
