Purplevine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This colossal bine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 2,974 feet (906.5 meters) and growing as high as 378 feet (115.2 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 27 years for the slate and moss green stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 3.3 feet (1.0 meters) and are rough and fibrous.

The circular, rough leaves reach up to 4.0 feet (1.2 meters) in length. They are found in vibrant purple and grey varieties, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces handfuls of average brown flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces a few large seed pods.


The grass is spicy and extremely non-toxic and while grains are spicy and extremely toxic.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
