Speckled White Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 41 meters (134.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 80 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, waxy, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is yellow-brown.

The branches are very short and thick and are covered with large amounts of covered in fine hairs, miniature, pleated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either blood red, or ashy purple with brown splotches.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of tiny, purple blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like candle wax.

In late summer it forms small, caramel, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
