Aquamarine Leaf Shrubby

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 26 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous stocky, straight stems covered in fine, rough, light gray bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of large, thin, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in red and aquamarine varieties, flexible and smooth.

In late spring it produces several medium-sized, green flowers with 5 oblong shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The sap is purple.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
