Emberfern

This orange-yellow moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In damp forests, and On trees.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly rigid; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
