Aquamarine

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 84 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in silky, dark green bark, and inside, the dense wood is copper-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches are very long and thin and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, stiff, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid caramel with aquamarine lines.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of large, cyan blossoms with long, narrow petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like perfume.

In early summer it produces , cuboid fruit. The soft pastel purple skin is tough and sweet, and the slightly crunchy slate flesh is sweet and spicy and sticky. The beige seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
