Cyan

This small caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The very thin stem is orange, and is covered in hundreds of fine, slate, hair-like spines. The straight, cream trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter at the bottom. Its copper branches are tall, rigid and upright and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.

The thick bunches of ripped-edged, thick leaves are cyan and blue. They are tough, but do not detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid bronze petals decorated with aquamarine dots and a drab red central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 45 tightly layered round-tipped petals. It has a faint scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the bronze flesh is rubbery, and the turquoise sap is thin.
